Facilities

Members of the group make use of a wide range of microscopes, including several at collaborator sites. The principal facilities used in Oxford are listed on the DCCEM website.

Oxford is also one of five managing consortium universities for the EPSRC National Facility for Aberration-Corrected STEM (SuperSTEM). This facility provides world-leading image and spectroscopy resolution and sensitivity, capable of spectroscopy with an energy resolution better than 20 meV, with potential applications ranging from measurement of gap states to detection of vibrational modes.

Oxford Materials are also partners with the Diamond Light Source at Harwell through the Electron Physical Sciences Imaging Centre (ePSIC), providing high-resolution TEM and STEM imaging and spectroscopy capabilities.
